Diversity is a core part of the work that the BFI does and the BFI Diversity Fund is designed to reach out to a wider audience. The new BFI Diversity Standards apply to all applications made for Lottery funding at the Film Fund, and also apply to the BFI Diversity Fund.
The Diversity Fund focuses on specific groups that are currently under-represented within the film industry. We would like to fund film projects or activities that focus on under-representation in the following areas:
Low socio-economic status
Activity outside of London
The Fund exists to meet the BFI’s core aim of recognising and acknowledging the value and quality of difference. It will support people and projects that are highly likely to have an impact on the diversity of the British film industry; these can be one-off, short-term or time-limited, or take place over a longer period of time.
The BFI Diversity Fund closes in March 2017. There are no deadlines for applications to this Fund.
The minimum amount an applicant can apply for is £1,000. The maximum amount for an individual is £10,000. For an organisation, the maximum amount is £30,000. The total amount available for the fund is £1 million.
